Our music program offers four dynamic ensembles for students to join, each providing a unique opportunity to develop musical skills and foster a love for performance.
All members of the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble meet year-round during the school day, allowing for continuous growth and collaboration among musicians. These ensembles focus on a diverse repertoire, ranging from band classics to more contemporary pieces, and emphasize the development of individual and group performance skills. Throughout the year, students participate in various school performances, adjudicated band festivals, and community events, showcasing their hard work.
The jazz band, on the other hand, meets only during zero period in the second semester. This ensemble explores improvisation, jazz ensemble playing, and the history of jazz music. Students will have the chance to play a variety of styles, including swing, bebop, and funk, while developing their creativity and musical expression.
Each ensemble has specific requirements and learning outcomes, which are typically demonstrated through an audition or performance reviews throughout the year. These assessments not only help us gauge individual progress but also ensure that students are placed in the ensemble that best matches their skills and aspirations.
We encourage all interested students to review the descriptions below if you are considering joining one of our instrumental ensembles. Whether you're a seasoned musician or just starting out, there's a place for you in our program.
